A Friday Afternoon Walk on Bonny Doon Beach

A Friday Afternoon Walk on Bonny Doon Beach

The gourmet chefs get a much-needed reprieve on Fridays, as they don’t have to prepare dinner. With no free late meal today, there was every reason to leave at a reasonable hour and explore the route home.

The windy-twisty Bonny Doon Road to Pacific Coast Highway will be a bit more fun when I have the front struts of my aging bimmer replaced. Until then I take it slow.

First and obvious stop was Bonny Doon Beach. I assumed all the cars parked off the highway were owned by surfers, but to my surprise this is a secluded nude beach. Needless to say, I pointed my camera only in the direction of the ocean and hiked up to the cliffs for a more distant view.

The California Coast is a gem equivalent to Yellowstone and Yosemite – and this is the best of it. I can’t wait to get my Nikon mirrorless camera and attempt some serious photos.

Until then my little Sony in “Shutter Speed” mode is just fine. Too bad I must shrink down the size to post them here.
