A Taste of Mideastern in Mexico

The essense of food –  falafels, taboule and humus (and a bit more to make it glorious)!

Life in Querétaro, Mexico is not all about tacos. Yet last night a departing coworker (Jessica) had a farewell party and catered a major taco creation event – and all was fabulous (the open bar helped).

But one cannot just eat Mexican in Mexico. There’s a cute sushi bar a hop away, and it is fantastic.

I vary my diet, doing quasi-mideastern once a week – falafels, taboule and humus with grilled cod and steamed asparagus. Real Kalamata olives rounded out the dinner, with a fine Caenére red wine and Peňafiel sparkling water adding to the ambience. Of course a splash of Cholula salsa picante and herb-infused virgin olive oil closed the deal.

Next weekend I try this combo on real guests (or one guest if all goes well ;-)). Life is grand!
