October is my favorite month in Maryland, mostly because it finally cools off a bit. I had to take care of a few mundane tasks: clean the pine needles out of the rain gutters, endure an annual checkup and get my driver’s license renewed.
By chance I was back for St. Mary’s Annual Oyster Festival. Given each day was a mad rush, I opted for a few hours to relax, downed a dozen oysters and tasted some local brews.
I didn’t hang around for the big event: the final oyster shucking contest – there’s just not that much to see.
Tomorrow it is back to Southern California, and frankly I am looking forward to it.
