New Toys – iPhone 5s Gold and iPad Air Silver – Oh Boy!
I was home this weekend to take the good old 325xi into phase two of my winter survival vehicle – front end alignment, wheel balance and tire rotation – all for about a hundred bucks at Mr. Tire.
Meanwhile I had lunch at Ruby Tuesdays, as it was within walking distance. With time to kill, I wandered in to the local Verizon retail outlet, expecting to be disappointed.
Ah, was I wrong (of course as they are gearing up for the major holiday sales season). After giving my mobile number, I was given a digital waiting number of sorts, and waited about 30 seconds.
A cute young black woman (totally technical and sales savoy) ask me what I was wanting and I said an iPhone 5s 16 gig in gold. “We have that” she gleamed! OK, I’ll take it. By the way, I am also looking to upgrade my iPad 2 to the iPad Air. “We have that too.”
Done deal. I erased and reset the old iPhone and got a hundred bucks for it. The old iPad will be reset and upgraded to iOS7 and sent to my technically challenged sister (she will love it).
Meanwhile I wasted the day with transferring and upgrading apps and all the other BS one has to go through. First impressions: finally an iPhone camera that totally doesn’t suck! Second impressions: Apple still rules!
