If anything is a national gem, it is Pacific Coast Highway – especially from Carmel to Big Sur. The road must be a monster to maintain. Although seemingly remote, the wealth along the coast is incomprehensible.

This was a short trip from Santa Cruz to San Luis Obispo – revisiting a past life. It was also exploratory, as I will likely find my new permanent home here now that my property in Piney Point is sold.

In honesty, I spent little time in Big Sur – too overwhelmed with holiday travel. But is was good to visit SLO, Avila Beach and the Old Port Inn.

It is hard to believe it was decades ago when I worked repairing wooden boats with my high school friend Donny Laing after leaving LA.

Perhaps it is time to revisit and close that chapter in my life. Finish the story.

Meanwhile the task of certifying an electric flying taxi returns tomorrow. Really, if one must do something, that’s not so bad – given this glorious location.
