Funny how I am left-handed but play guitar and bass as a righty. Likely because I was trained as a violinist right-handed (as that just how it was done). Not so with drums, as I definitely need that left foot pounding the bass.
There’s a whole new set of muscles a drummer must develop. With the drum kit set up in my shop mezzanine, I can bang away at whim without any fear annoying anyone. Monterey Motor Sport Park is deserted after 6 p.m. on most days.
I’m still working at drumming 101 basics, and developing some sense of rhythm again. I’ll tell you this: banging away on this little inexpensive drum kit is a great stress reliever.
