Here in Monterey Bay, June Gloom (coastal clouds, haze, and fog) extends to the end of July. Summer generally starts in August, and rolls through the end of October — I am talking those perfect days, 75°F, sunny with picture-perfect clouds, clean surf, and light breezes.
Of course, inland, California (and the entire west) is already in a hellish fire season, with months to go. I have no plans to venture east of Highway 101.
