My favorite house so far – fond memories forever and the pool was so warm!
I learned a trick when leaving Querétaro on Friday. The aircraft is too heavy with a full load of passengers and enough fuel to make it to Houston. First they offered a $500 flight voucher and no one budged. Five passengers needed to get off. Then $600, followed $700, $800 and the magic $1000. With a $1000 flight voucher comes a free taxi, free meal and free hotel, if needed. It was a two hour drive to Leon, and I still arrived with time to spare (so I thought).
It turns out the flight out of of Leon was late but I just made the connecting flight to Sacramento. I was home and in bed by 1:00 a.m.. I did take a dip in the pool before a most restful sleep.
It was a crazy weekend to get my cars into storage and the remaining stuff out, but we managed BBQ each night in spite of all the work. And the late night swims were glorious.
Now I heading back to Mexico. Time to board here in Sacramento. More when I arrive.

So I made it home to Querétaro, and this time it felt like arriving home. With my new FM3 card, I made it through Imigration and Customs in a breeze. My car was a hop a way in a compact parking lot. Only 460 pesos for four days. As Bombardier is at this airport, the drive home was effortless. Superama was still open and I picked up food for the next few days.
Querétaro feels like home!
Of course I will sleep in tomorrow. I’m beat. And I will have one more long weekend to enjoy the pool back in California.
Actually I decided that after this assignment is complete, I will lease my house in Piney Point, Maryland and make California my home. Unless of course I get sided-tracked to India. Anyway I will sleep well tonight here in Querétaro. And I will miss California – but I’ll be back!
