I am forcing myself to walk again as the weight I lost when I made the move seems to be creeping back. Also, it’s good for you, they say (duh).
The round trip from my home to the park on foot is about an hour. As the first half of the trip is up hill, I rest and grab some water at the park and then back down Skyline Drive. Going down is easier on the heart, but some sections of the road are steep enough to get a nice “burn” in the calf muscles.
The views are incredible when you can catch them, as trees and vegetation are everywhere. Yet there are a thousand million-dollar views for the folks fortunate enough to live up here.
