I was up at my standard 8 a.m. logging onto Slack and all seemed quiet. I ventured outside around 9 a.m. It was warm and sunny in the hills of Monterey.
At noon, I walked to the Del Monte Mall and had my eyes checked for the first time since the pandemic. My vision 20/30, OK for driving, but given I have a 3000-mile road trip coming up, I bought a pair of super-duper progressive, lens shading glasses on blue frames that cost $140 by themselves. Insurance must have paid for some of it, but how much, I don’t have a clue.
It was 80 F when I left the mall and I headed to Cannery Row for lunch.
Then back to work at the house until 6 p.m. and a walk to downtown farmer’s market. The berries are fresh and ripe beyond belief.
Finally, a walk in Pacific Grove. I think my next home will be Pacific Grove.
