I bought my home back in 2002 when I joined NAVAIR in to help rescue the V-22 Osprey from cancellation due to its horrific record of safety. It survived, and seems to be doing well.
The first thing I was hoping to do this week was fly my Phantom 4 from the tip of St. George Island to the Piney Point Lighthouse. It will never happen!
The overhead blanket of restricted airspace from NAVAIR hovers above me like a never-ending cloud. I knew this, but it is still pissing me off. I mean F-18s do not fly at 200 feet!
Plan B – launch the boat over the coming holiday and test flight on St. Clements Island (where in 1634, 140 English settlers landed here to establish America’s fourth British colony). I don’t think they will mind, but I am not sure about the park rangers.
