Last night I mesmerized myself through the scariest documentary I ever saw: What the Health. Sure, there’s some hype and vegan extremism, and I didn’t buy the part when (spoiler) the heavy woman tossed out all her prescription drugs (12+) she was taking after two weeks of no meat or daily (both stupid and dangerous).
But all the facts point to an obvious reality: Americans are eating themselves to death in record numbers, and it is just going to get worse, much worse. And with all the debate over health care, not even a mention that this is what drives up the cost.
Odd to learn that the meat and daily processors fund major cancer, heart and diabetes organizations. And of course, the pharmaceutical giants want anything but healthy folks.
So am I going to give up meat and dairy? It ain’t easy, but I will shoot for two days a week. This book I just purchased on Kindle has some pretty delightful recipes.
