I needed to get home as both my driver’s license and auto registration are about to expire and I don’t want to commit to becoming a Californian quite yet (not that I would mind). Also my house in Piney Point needs to be prepped for the winter.
I’m sitting in Terminal 2 at SFO and about to get on my Virgin America flight to DC. I just ordered some noodles and sake. SFO has about the best food options of all US airports. But go figure – Udon Noodles with Turkey Breast and Beef at SFO – oh yes, San Francisco is known for Chinatown, not Little Tokyo!
I missed again getting my 1st class upgrade. As compensation for the disappointment I sampled three delightful Napa Valley red wines a few moments before boarding. I guess I am spoiled. Domestic air travel sucks these days, still a coach seat on a direct coast-to-coast flight on VA is nothing to complain about.
There is not much time to get things done once home, as I will be on a return flight on Monday.
I am traveling real light (for me) with only two cameras and two computers. That makes check-in a breeze. The airport crowd is very light for a Firday, but it is only 1:15 p.m. I am glad to be here before the weekend rush.
I get to DC at 10:35 p.m. and should be soaking in my jacuzzi tub after midnight. No plans for tomorrow except to figure out what to do with all the stuff I brought back from my temporary homes in Tampa and Philadelphia. Boy that seems like a long time ago.
When I get back to California things will get real crazy – my client promised the impossible to their customer, Bombardier for this new cSeries aircraft. I’ll be suffering until Christmas, but my bank account will be quite fat and content.
