Eating quality oatmeal on a regular basis is a no-brainer – just don’t buy instant. Steel-cut is hardiest if you have the time to cook it on the stove. I do, but not every day. It has the lowest glycemic index meaning, in theory, it keeps you feeling full longer.
Good old-fashioned oatmeal works for my morning working routine. 1 cup water; ½ cup oats mixed in a big glass bowel (add chia seeds if you like). In the 4 minutes it takes to cook in my microwave, I have all the goodies ready to make this simple food awesome.

This morning’s goodies were walnuts, pecans, dates, 2 squares of dark chocolate, with a sprinkle of frozen raspberries & honey. Add the milk of your choice with a fresh California orange. Nothing could be better or healthier for a morning start in my view.
