Bird’s Eye View of Piney Point on the Mighty Potomac River (Hint: Lots of Water)
Honestly I can’t call it guilt, just relief – as this super storm was 900 miles wide and could have just as easily wiped Piney Point off the map.
We can’t imagine all the suffering that this hurricane has caused. As the focus now is New York and New Jersey, Haiti and Cuba are forgotten afterthoughts. The news cycle will shortly switch back to the election. Everyone but those directly affected will soon forget.
I, fortunately, can go back to the mundane side of working in sunny Mexico. I slept well last night.
I am thinking a three-day weekend in Cancun is in order – kind of a survivor’s reward. Yet had atmospheric conditions been slightly different, I might be salvaging through the soggy remains of my house like so many thousands are now doing.
