LA= Cars!
We had the first real rain here in LA today, which made for a good excuse to head to the convention center to catch an early glimpse of all the new shiny vehicles at the LA Auto Show.
Although the exotics did a no-show (unlike New York), there was plenty to see, granted much of the hi-tech features and over-the-top paint will never see it into America’s showrooms.
But what the hell, it’s a car show in one of the largest car markets in the world.
I over-slept by an hour this Sunday, making it impossible to get in before the hordes of attendees arrived with their hordes of kids. No matter, as people in cars make for a better photo than just a damn car.
Photographing cars at an auto show is like photographing animals in a zoo – making it impossible to capture the essence of either.
To further complicate matters, animals do not have their audience in the cage with them; not so at auto shows.
I captured hundreds of photos today and don’t have an inking which are good, verses those which are mediocre. I will post a few and then sort it out to see if more are worth the effort.
Ha – I am going to buy one more vehicle as my retirement ride. It just may not be a BMW as I had planned!
