The Final Transition Out of Maryland

I flew from San Francisco to DC and last Sunday and spent most of last week loading up all the stuff that was supposed to be moved before the pandemic. I stayed at the Island Inn & Suite on St. George Island near my old home.

The storage area was 10 X 15 foot square, packed full. I loaded all that was worth keeping into the truck over three days. What a fantastic workout despite the fact my entire body was in pain for that entire time.

I found a guy, Steve, that hauls junk. He and his team took care of the rest. Fortunately, the storage site maintenance guy, Derik, took the bedroom furniture and 4 filing cabinets, saving me hundreds in junk removal fees.

I hit the road Friday morning and had a challenging drive through the DC Beltway in a downpour. After 9 hours of driving, I finally checked into a nice Fairfield Inn in Richmond, Indiana.

I am sipping hot coffee as I write this, and about to begin Day 2 of the journey to Topeka, Kansas. It will be an easy drive.
