Now with a few upgrades and renovations, I could live in this minor Vikingsholm structure
Vikingsholm Castle has been a major tourist destination for generations. On my last visit, it was clear that the structure was in neglect. The State of California is broke and even the organization formed to save it is foundering.
In the scheme of things it likely doesn’t matter. Yet I found it amazing with all the wealth in California that nothing seems being done.
I could not post the photos of the castle itself as they were too depressing. Yet this log cabin caught my attention. It was likely a stable and later a garage below, and housing for the “help” above.
Now I would take to restoring it, given I could live there! It would be a perfect place for the simple life, except for the thousands of tourist that make the trek down to see the delapidated castle.
